Top Interesting Facts about Math to Brighten Up Your Mood!

Math is everywhere around us! Words like calculation, equations, formulas can sound not so interesting. So, that’s why today I’ve come up with the top ten mathematical facts which would make you “oh okay” “really?” level of interest and now we would leave it upon you.

What you will know?

In this article, I will going to discuss Top ten mathematical facts some facts can be very easily understandable and would take only a moment’s thought and some might take some more time to make sense.

So, I have tried adding some explanation within the fact and I hope everyone will get something interesting from the top ten list. So let’s simply get started now!

Interesting Facts about Mathematics Starts Here

1. Did you know the number 0.999999…. is equal to 1?

Let’s solve it together and see whether or not this is true.

Let’s make an equation and take X = 0.9999

Now, 10 x = 9.9999

Then, 10 x – x = (9.9999 – 0.9999)

9 x = 9

Therefore, x = 1 This was cool right?

2. Interesting Mathematical facts for percentages.

You all must be thinking what’s that but did you know that X% of Y = Y% of X?

This trick of working out or calculating percentages would come in handy next time.

Let’s take an example 32% of 75 calculate it in your head, not that easy to calculate right? Now simply flip it and calculate 75% of 32 much more clearly and easily.

Similarly, 8% of 50 flip it, and calculating 50% of 8 is going to be much easier to solve.

The total number of milliseconds in a day is equal to this square root number. 5⁵× 4⁴ × 3³ × 2² × 1¹.

5. There are perfectly only seventeen types of wallpaper patterns

If you carefully see the underlined symmetry in a pattern of wallpaper, mathematicians all around the world have shown that there are only 17 possibilities.

6. In the thirteen different kinds of playing cards which are jack, queen, king, ace, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. If you count up the numbers from these cards you would see that there are exactly 52 letters which is equal to the total number of the playing cards.

7. Did you know If we see in English every “odd” number contains an “e”.

8. Ok now this one is very interesting. If you try to fold a piece of paper in half 103 times it would be the thickness of the universe we observe. In practice, the world record of folding a paper in half is 12 times but if you try and go beyond that you would possibly start to get a good amount of thickness.
